We were cutting some up and then wondered if we could recycle them? Here's the answer: yes, if your recycling program accepts #4 plastics. We use Rumpke and I can't figure out if they do from their website, so I sent them an email to ask. I'll let you know what I find out!
Meanwhile, here's some other lesser-known recyclables you can learn about here: http://earth911.com/news/2010/02/08/wow-you-can-recycle-that/
Follow up: according to Rumpke, they accept plastics #1-7, but bottles only. Bummer. So remember to cut those rings up before putting them in the trash to help protect our water friends!
ReplyDeleteOr even better, recycle them yourself! Here's a way to make a snowflake ornament out of them - maybe we can decorate for the Yule Ball with some of these!
